Global Mission in our synod follows the practice of accompaniment which is defined by the values of mutuality, inclusivity, vulnerability, empowerment and sustainability. As a synod of the ELCA, we're part of a greater global family of Lutherans belonging to the Lutheran World Federation. Within this global family the ELCA has deeper, more intentional companion church relationships with many national Lutheran church bodies. Our synod has companion synod relationships with Iglesia Luterana del Perú, the Lutheran Church of Peru, and with the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in the Czech Republic. Our synod also has a subcommittee dedicated to peace and justice issues in the Middle East.
