The Synod School of Theology

. . . is designed to nurture and strengthen you in your journey of discipleship. As you participate in this ministry you can expect to:

Anyone is welcome to join in the classes regardless of education level and background. Most classes are taught virtually, some are taught in person. See below for more information about the School, its curriculum and how to register for classes.

Spring 2024 Classes

  • Dates: April 18 & 25, May 2 & 9

  • Times for Class One: 5:30 PM โ€“ 6:45 PM

  • Times for Class Two: 7:15 PM โ€“ 8:30 PM

  • Location: Synod Office in La Crosse, WI & via ZOOM

  • Cost: $35 for one class / $60 for both classes

  • A Minimum of 5 participants Must be Registered by April 11th for a class to take place

Whoโ€™s Your Hero?

  • Time: 5:30 PM โ€“ 6:45 PM

  • Description of Class One: Be inspired by hearing about othersโ€™ spiritual heroes each night. What makes them inspirational? How have they shaped and encouraged faith?  Pastors and lay leaders share their spiritual heroes, the ones they look too, read, and draw inspiration from own for their own faith journey. Learn about specific faith heroes, while considering, โ€œwho are yours?โ€

Unearthing the Bible

  • Time: 7:15 PM โ€“ 8:30 PM

  • Description of Class Two: Join us on a treasure hunt for ancient manuscripts, artifacts, and lost cities that illuminate and complexify our understanding of the Bible! It is beneficial to attend in person because there will be opportunities to touch the stuff that contributed to our biblical stories.

    Teacher: Dr. Jake Sorenson
