World Hunger: Water is Life

Greetings from your World Hunger team!

The templates included here are meant for your use in promoting the water-related ELCA Good Gifts that we are focusing on from now (including Advent 2023 through Lent 2024) until our next Synod Assembly.  You can print them on heavy cardstock or label paper and make your own ornaments, coasters for Lenten dinners, thank you cards for gifts given, or whatever ideas you come up with that work in your setting - our hope is that each congregation will set a goal to challenge members to generosity for clean water and sanitation throughout the world.  Those gifts are: $25 for a hygiene kit, $30 for a water filter, $100 for a portion of an irrigation project, $150 for a latrine, $250 for a share of a safe water project, and $2500 for a simple water well. These are meant to be used along with your bucket in whatever way you are finding to use that.

PLEASE SEND PHOTOS!!! to the synod office of whatever you are doing for "Water is Life"  - we would like to have a collage to share with the whole synod by the week of the Baptism of our Lord on January 7th, 2024.

Speaking of sharing....we are in the process of purchasing a Storytelling Tech Kit which is being funded by a statewide Education and Networking Grant. Pastor Kathy Ingbritsen and Meg FInerty have been a part of a group which has been meeting on Zoom since Covid  to think and dream and plan and carry out collaborative ministry in the synods of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The kit will include items to be used with your own phone to create short content to share in our churches and synod, statewide, and even nationally about the important and creative work we are doing to feed hungry people and meet other important needs. We should have the kit and a check-out procedure ready by mid-December so WATCH THE SYNOD UPDATE.
