The Central Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus

Since 1990 , the La Crosse Area Synod and the Central Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY) have walked together in mission as companion synods. Through this relationship we celebrate our unity in Christ and share our ministries with one another.

Our connection with the Mekane Yesus Church is one of many companion relationships that exist between the 65 synods of the ELCA and other international Lutheran World Federation member churches. We build these relationships to strengthen one another for life and mission within the body of Christ. These relationships offer the privileges of mutually participating in the life of another Church through prayer, study, communication, and exchange of pastors, leaders, visitors, and resources.
